32V-1 Ser No 1 and 75A-1
Developed very shortly after the end of World War 2, these units represent some of the first commercial products shipped from Collins in Cedar Rapids after it was released by the war department to begin commercial production again. The 32V-1 on the left is serial number one and is operational providing 100 watts of 100 % modulated AM. It is in original unrestored condition. The 75A-1 on the right is from the following year and was obtained new in the box (along with the matching speaker) about 7 years ago. It is in serious mint condition and a rare example of this marvelous receiver that revolutionized amateur receiver design with it reverse double conversion, PTO oscillator and military feel. Prior to WW2, Collins was not really a provider of receivers. The 75A-1 was a serious entry and very successful.
