AM Op at K0CXX with Bucks 212F-1
In 1954, Buck Owens was a local star in the Bakersfield California area and he and his wife owned one AM station in Bakersfield. Follow the purchase of the station, Buck bought this 212F-1 Collins Mixer Board to “modernize” the station. This AM studio recreates the Bakersfield studio ambiance and contains Buck’s actual mixer and audio processing rack and some of his equipment. It is fully operational including a fully restored TT-400 Collins (QRK) turntable and a set of Collins Cart Machines. The station can interface with either the Collins 20V-3 1 kW AM broadcast transmitter converted to 75 meters, or it can feed the 20V-2 tuned to 160 meters. Receivers include a Collins R-388 and a 51S-1.
