On January 30, 2013, and email CCA Board of Directors Meeting Process was completed. The purpose of this meeting extending over approximately 2 weeks was to complete the Q4 2012 Board of Directors election process, elect new board officers and change the status of our President Emeritus, Bill Wheeler, K0DEW. By a majority vote, Bill Wheeler was appointed permanent Advisor to the CCA Board of Directors and President Emeritus of the Collins Collectors Association. Bill has been involved with the CCA since he founded the, then, small club in 1994. He previously had formed and managed the informal Collins 20 meter Sunday afternoon social net. This new position honors his efforts then and now. He previously had been an appointed member of the CCA Board of Directors. Scott Kerr, KE1RR, was elected without contest as the new board member replacing Ron Freeman whose term expired in December 2012. Bill Carns, N7OTQ, was reelected without contest as the replacement for his previous board position. He was eligible for one more term (ending in December 2014) on the board. Elections were then held among the board members and Bill Carns, N7OTQ, was reelected (Unanimous vote with Bill abstaining) as the President and Scott Kerr, KE1RR, was elected (Unanimous vote with Scott abstaining) as the new Vice President. All agreed that this new honor for Scott was well deserved given his dedication and proven contributions to the CCA. The treasurer’s position is unfilled as of this date. Ron Freeman, CPA, will complete the 2013 filing of the 2012 tax year forms and treasurer’s duties are being covered by the officers until a treasurer can be found.
