Arthur A. Collins Policy Letter – November 1, 1945

Immediately after the close of world war two, and as Art and the company struggled with the huge task of closing out war production and refilling the factories and bookings with sustainable military and commercial business, Art wrote a policy memo to his management and the employees laying out the philosophies that would be used going forward.

As it turned out, the strength of Art’s leadership – and the culture that he and his management built – would follow this exact path for the next 25 years. The outcome was the eventual need of the company for a “rescue mission” provided by Rockwell International.

For more information about this intriguing and impressive span of history at Collins Radio, see the Q3 2013 anniversary issue of the CCA Signal Magazine and the coming Q4 issue which goes on to document the following 43 years under Rockwell’s influence.

The two page letter is copied below compliments of Loney Duncan, W0GZV and Bill Swan, K5MWC – both retired Rockwell Collins employees from Dallas, Texas.
